William S. Holdaway

Provo—Last rites for William Shadrack Holdaway, 87, former Provo resident, who died Tuesday in Los Angeles, Calif., were conducted today at 1 p.m. in the Berg Mortuary chapel in Provo.

Mr. Holdaway was born Dec. 13, 1851, in Provo, a son of Shadrach and Lucinda Haws Holdaway, early Utah pioneers. He lived in Provo until 1908 when he moved to Idaho. He moved to Los Angeles, 15 years ago.

Surviving are a son and two daughters. Lorus Holdaway of Los Angeles, Mrs. Hazel Pierce of Brownlee, Ore., and Mrs. Glora Bateman, of Baker, Ore.; and a brother, Logan Holdaway of Salt Lake City.

Burial was in Provo City Burial Park.
