Elder Nephi Pratt, writing from Merthyr Tydvel under this date to President A. Carrington says: “the departure of President Morris with that noble company of Welsh Saints made quite a breach in this Conference. He took with him five Presidents of Branches, two of whom were Traveling Elders; also the majority of the members of some of the Branches, leaving so few that they were not sufficient to again form into Branches. Since their departure I have taken a reorganizing tour through the Glamorganshire Conference, making the necessity appointments and re-arranging as I was led by the Spirit.

I had expected, after the departure of so many, that we would be compelled to give up some of our meeting halls, but I now think we will be able to keep them. I called upon the proprietor of one of our meeting rooms, thinking it wisdom to give it up, as we were very much reduced in numbers there and very poor, but he would not listen to our proposition to vacate the room, and proposed to reduce the rent to suit the circumstances of the Branch, which proposal I thankfully accepted.
