Local and Other Matters.
From Monday’s Daily, Sept. 2.
Tabernacle Services.

After the usual opening exercises, and the administration of the Lord’s Supper, Elder Orson Pratt delivered a discourse from the original text, “What is Mormonism?” What are the peculiarities of the Latter-day Saints? In what do they differ from other religious denominations? His remarks were pointed and powerful, and towards the close the speaker portrayed the character of the judgments that should follow in swift succession after the preaching of the gospel for the last time. He related some of the revelations which had been given through the Prophet Joseph Smith, concerning the wars upon the continent of America, also showed that they would extend to the Eastern Hemisphere, and finally that the world and the wicked would be convulsed and desolated through rejection of the gospel revealed in these last days.
