Home From Europe
Lorus Pratt Returns From Paris, Where He Has Been Studying Art for Two Years.
Lorus Pratt, of this city, and son of late Professor Orson Pratt, has just returned from Paris, where he has been studying the art of landscape and figure painting. Mr. Pratt left Utah June 27, 1890, and arrived in Paris on the 24 of July following and immediately entered the Julien Academy. He applied himself closely to his work and made splendid progress and was highly complimented by the professors for the excellence of some of his productions. Mr. Pratt reports that Edwin Evans of Nephi, J.B. Fairbanks of Payson and Will Clawson and Herman Haag of this city also improved wonderfully while attending the Julien Academy. They worked as Utah boys generally do and secured valuable professional recognition by their diligence and earnestness.
Mr. Fairbanks, it is expected, will arrive home some time in August next. Will Clawson is now in Italy.
