Rites Slated For Retired Shoe Merchant
Funeral services for William Lyman Shiverick, 93, of 257 Tenth Ave., retired Florsheim Shoe Company manager, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Salt Lake City mausoleum, 1001 Eleventh Ave., by Bishop D. Edward Judd of the West Ensign Ward.
Friends of Mr. Shiverick, who died Friday of causes incident to age, may call at 125 North Main Monday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and until 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
Mr. Shiverick established the first Florsheim Shoe Company store in Salt Lake City in 1908, and was part owner and manager of the outlet until he retired in 1925.
He was born in Middlesboro, Mass., Jan 23, 1855, a son of William and Betsy Nye Shiverick. He came to Salt Lake City 40 years ago, and was married to Neva Pratt here on Aug. 6, 1908.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Frank B. Cary, Los Angeles, Calif., and three grandchildren.
The family request no flowers be sent.

Store Founder Dies at 93 In S.L. Home
William Lyman Shiverick, 93, retired Salt Lake footwear retailer, died in his residence, 257 10th ave., Friday at 3 a.m. of causes incident to age.
Mr. Shiverick established the first Florsheim Shoe Co. outlet in Salt Lake City in 1908. He was part owner and manager of the store until his retirement in 1925.
Born in Middlesboro, Mass., Jan. 23, 1855, he was a son of William and Betsy Nye Shiverick. He married Neva Pratt in Salt Lake City Aug. 6, 1908.
