The Wood River Country.
Mr. Harmel Pratt, who has been at Conklin & Swift’s Sampling works in Wood River for some time past, has returned to Salt Lake; the report he gives of mining affairs in the Wood River country cannot be called an encouraging one. The Bullion, the Minnie Moore and the Mayflower are turning out little or no ore, from what seems to be the best of reasons, that ore has become extremely scarce. The tunnel which is being driven in the Bullion, it is expected, will demonstrate very soon the vexed problem as to whether or not there is any depth to the Wood River mines. Upon the result hangs a big portion of the future prosperity of that district.
