Mrs. Agnes Caine Pratt To Be Buried On June 2

Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Caine Pratt, widow of Arthur Pratt, former warden of the state prison, former chief of police here and for some time chief special agent for the Oregon Short Line, will be held at 4 p.m., Wednesday at the home of C.C. Pratt, 933 Lincoln avenue. Interment will be in City cemetery.

Mrs. Pratt spent the winter in California and returned to this city about five weeks ago. Recently she became seriously ill and was taken to a Salt Lake hospital where she died Monday.

Mrs. Pratt was born in St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 1, 1851, a daughter of John T. and Margaret N. Caine. When a year old she came to Utah with her parents, crossing the plains by ox team.

She attended the University of Deseret and on Christmas day, 1872, married Arthur Pratt who died seven years ago.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Mary E. Lennon of Hollister, Calif.; C.C. and H.L Pratt of this city, and James B. Pratt of Oakland, Calif. Also 11 grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: John T. Caine, Jr., Joseph E. Caine, Mrs. Will G. Farrell, Charles A. Caine, Mrs. George D. Alder and Mrs. W.G. Patrick.

Funeral Will Be Wednesday
Widow of Former Prison Warden to Be Buried in City Cemetery

Agnes Caine Pratt, widow of Arthur Pratt, who for many years was warden of the Utah state prison, died yesterday at a local hospital. Mrs. Pratt returned to Salt Lake five weeks ago from California, where she had spent the winter.

Mrs. Pratt was born in St. Louis, Mo., October 1, 1851, the oldest child of John T. and Margaret N. Caine, and came to Utah the following year with her parents crossing the plains by ox team. She had made her home in Salt Lake ever since. She attended the old University of Deseret, and on Christmas day, 1872, was married to Arthur Pratt, son of Orson Pratt. Her husband died seven years ago.

Mrs. Pratt is survived by the following children: Mrs. Harry E. Lennon, Hollister, Cal.; C.C. Pratt and H.L. Pratt, both of Salt Lake, and James B. Pratt, Oakland, Cal.; Eleven grandchildren also survive. There are also surviving her six brothers and sisters, as follows: John T. Caine, Oakland, Cal.; Mrs. Will G. Farrell, Los Angeles, and Charles A. Caine, Mrs. George D. Alder and Mrs. W.G. Patrick, all of Salt Lake.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home of C.C. Pratt, 953 Lincoln street. Interment will be in the City cemetery.
