Dear president and brother,
I take pleasure this afternoon in taking the liberty of writing you in regards to a matter that has had some weight on my mind of late. I have always had a desire to some days fill an honorable mission. With this desire in my mind I have been talking with brother McCune, he tell me that last fall the leaders of the church sent out word asking for those that had the means and were willing to go on a mission to send in their name’s

The Lord has blessed me with the means and I am willing, if the Lord is to call me, to fill an honorable mission to the best of my ability.
Hoping that you will give this a carefull consideration and if see fit give my name in to the church
