STATE OF IDAHO
BUREAU OF
Immigration, Labor and Statistics
Allen Miller, Commissioner
Heber Q. Hale, Chief Clerk

Boise, Idaho, Oct. 12, 1906,

Pres. Nephi Pratt,
Portland, Oregon.

Dear Brother:-

Hastely answering your favor of the 11th inst. Beg to sat that I consulted with the authorities at Republican headquarters and they feel that if there is nothing in the “minority report” of an obnoxious nature, in the way of a personal defense for Smoot and not for the Mormon people generally, they will be glad to receive a good number for distribution. But they are not sufficiently enough posted upon the contents of the booklet as to decide now. You will therefore kindly mail me a few copies at your earliest convenience and I will submit them, and if taken favorably will make an order for a few thousand.

Will write you more news when more time is granted me.

Yours devotedly,
H. Q. Hale
