Under this date Thomas Bullock journalizes as follows: “I went to the Spanish Class at Parley P. Pratt’s house where I found Wilford Woodruff and 16 others diligent at their studies. Also several Mexicans. After dismissal I tarried with Elders Pratt and Pomeroy and three Spaniards for one hour to speak in Spanish. We also learned that the Moquis Indians had seven towns about 15 miles apart, that they owned sheep and cattle, raised grain, and lived in adobe houses, some of which are three or four stories high. We furthermore conversed about the Navajoes, Pimas and other tribes of Indians.
