Dear Brother Samuel,

…Another item for the month is, that on the 22nd, Elder Orson Hyde, President of the Twelve, arrived in the Valley, making eight of that Council here.  Elders P.P. Pratt, A. Lyman, and C.C. Rich, are expected here by the 1st December, when the Twelve will be once more together, excepting Orson Pratt, who is now gone to Washington….

John Y. Green arrived in G.S.L. City, 27 days from San Bernardino, California.  Elders Parley P. Pratt, Andrew Cahoon and others accompanied him as far as Iron County.  Elder Green reported that all was well and prosperous in San Bernardino.
