Valton Merrill Pratt Valton Merrill Pratt, 80, of 112 Fifth East Street, a son of Orson and Mary Ann Merrill Pratt, died yesterday in a local hospital. Mr. Pratt was born in Salt Lake City, May 23, 1860, and had lived here all of his life. He taught penmanship at Brigham Young University at Provo and was a tinman and engrosser in the Utah Legislature in 1911. He married Zina Estella Jenkins, June 26, 1895. She died in 1923. Surviving are two sons, Valton Elmer Pratt of California and Stanley Wallace Pratt of Salt Lake City; two daughters, Mary Estella Pratt and Edna Rosella Pratt of Salt Lake City; three brothers, Ortherus Pratt of Salt Lake City, Ray R. Pratt of San Francisco and Julius P. Pratt of Los Angeles, Calif.; eight sisters, Mrs. Lathilla P. Kimball, Mrs. Ruby P. Beesley, Mrs. Neva P. Shiverick and Mrs. Pearl P. Morgan of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Rintha P. Douglass and Mrs. Clomenia P. Larson of Ogden, Mrs. Willa P. Farrington of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Margaret P. Armstrong of Miami, Fla., and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:15 p.m., at 36 East Seventh South Street. Sharon Tanner, counselor in the Thirteenth Ward bishopric, will officiate. Interment will take place in City Cemetery.
